Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary and Religious school are partnering with Reading Village, an organization that works collaboratively with the residents of impoverished villages in Guatemala to develop a culture of reading. In the weeks leading up to Hanukkah, we are asking families to make a monetary gift to this organization. On the second night of Hanukkah, in lieu of giving your child a gift, please donate to Reading Village to provide children in Guatemala with books. In doing so, we will be transforming the lives of Guatemalan children by giving them the gift of literacy, and transforming our children's lives by giving them the gift of giving.
